The Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department has announced details for The 50th Annual Muir Beach Volunteer Firemen’s Barbecue on Sunday afternoon of Memorial Day Weekend, May 26, in Santos Meadows near Muir Beach and Muir Woods. Featuring delicious food, fantastic live music, tasty craft beers, premium wine, and a whole lot of fun for the family, the Firemen’s Barbecue is a festive gathering and a favorite Memorial Weekend tradition in Marin and an essential fundraiser for the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department. This year, the MBVFD will break ground on a brand-new firehouse near the Muir Beach Overlook, and proceeds from this year’s Barbecue will help fund the new building.
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary this year, the MBVFD is excited to welcome back beloved local funkster favorites Vinyl, who will get the spirited crowd on the dance floor with their diverse and high-energy set. Keeping the 50-year tradition going, local favorites Andre’s All-Stars (a collective of top-notch all-star musicians) will keep the groove going with their classic rock and R&B tunes.
Muir Beach firefighters and community members will tend to smoky grills. Barbecue chicken, crepes, vegetarian tamale lunches, handmade desserts, sodas, beer, and wine will be available, as will clothing and other items featuring the famous Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department’s iconic dog logo. The day’s activities end with a raffle of dozens of incredible prizes, including fantastic accommodations and gift certificates from popular Bay Area and beyond restaurants and attractions.
Entry/Parking fee is $30 per vehicle; carpooling is encouraged. There is a $10 entry fee for non-vehicle attendees (walk-in and bike-in attendees). For further details, please call (415) 235-6458 or check out muirbeachfire.com/bbq.
