SAN RAFAEL, CA – Cecilia Zamora announced she will be stepping away from her volunteer role as Chair of the San Rafael Leadership Institute (SRLI) after dedicating over two decades to the program.

Zamora’s departure marks the end of an era for the San Rafael Chamber and the San Rafael Leadership Institute (SRLI). Over the past 26 years, Zamora has been a beacon of dedication and passion, volunteering countless hours to foster leadership and community engagement. As the Chair of SRLI, she has guided over 400 participants through the program, helping them develop their leadership skills and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Beyond her work with SRLI, Zamora has been an instrumental figure in numerous Chamber initiatives. Her involvement in the Women in Industry program and the Governmental Affairs Committee has been vital in shaping the Chamber’s direction and supporting its mission. Her efforts have not only strengthened the Chamber but also enhanced the lives of many individuals within the community.

Zamora’s leadership and vision have left an indelible mark on the San Rafael Chamber. Her legacy is reflected in the success of the SRLI alumni, many of whom have gone on to hold prominent positions in government and business. The Chamber is deeply grateful for Cecilia’s unwavering commitment and will continue to honor her contributions in various ways within the community.

Karen Strolia, the San Rafael Chamber President & CEO, expressed her gratitude stating, “The Chamber is beyond grateful for Cecilia’s 26 years of service to our business community, as she has made such a remarkable impact lifting up so many of our community leaders. Her commitment to the San Rafael Chamber is unprecedented.”

“I have always felt honored to be of service to the Chamber, as leadership development is one of my personal commitments to myself and to others as they progress through their leadership journeys,” said Zamora.

Over the past 26 years, SRLI has produced distinguished alumni, including California Congressman Jared Huffman, Assemblymember Damon Connolly, San Rafael Mayor Kate Colin, and San Rafael Councilmember Maika Llorens Gulati, just to name a few.

The San Rafael Leadership Institute, a program of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, guides professionals in making a community impact, developing leadership vision, exploring current issues, understanding Marin’s decision-making systems, and networking with diverse leaders. The program offers dynamic interactions with professionals from various industries, enhancing leadership skills for the journey of leaders at all levels.
