In other news, Novato’s finest issued a bit of advice on the rise in theft crimes in Novato. The press release follows:
In recent weeks, we have seen a rise in the theft activity and are investigating these incidents. We remind our community that our online reporting system is an easy way to submit reports to NPD. The online reporting system allows our community to immediately initiate a police report for a variety of crimes and then print a copy of the submission for your records. Reported activity will be submitted directly to a Police Sergeant for timely review and consideration.
Protect Your Belongings:
Keep valuables safe: Place signs inside a fenced area or window.
Lock your doors and windows: Ensure all entry points to your home are secure, especially at night or when you are away.
Use security systems: Install surveillance cameras and alarm systems to deter thieves and provide evidence in case of a theft.
Mark your property: Use an engraving tool to mark valuable items with your name or a unique identifier.
Stay vigilant: Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately.
Secure outdoor items: place campaign or political yard signs inside window, lock up bicycles, tools, and outdoor furniture when not in use.
