Bread & Roses 50th Anniversary Benefit Concert set for Nov. 23

Bread & Roses Presents will celebrate its 50 th Anniversary (1974-2024) with a special Fall Benefit Concert on Sat. Nov. 23 at the Saint Joseph’s Arts Society with Rickie Lee Jones, The War and Treaty and Jobi Riccio.

Founded by the late Mimi Fariña, the dedicated non-profit will honorher legacy of 50 years of uplifting concerts for isolated Bay Area folk with this
momentous event.


Premium tickets are $250 and include reserved seating, early entry at 5:30
pm as well as access to the welcome reception with complimentary drinks and light

The organization’s most significant fundraising event of the year, proceeds
will support its ongoing program of hope and healing through live music for isolated
audiences in Bay Area institutional settings. The benefit concert will be an epic
celebration of 50 years of free live music and performing arts for children and
youth, adults and seniors who are most in need of hope and healing.


The concert promises to be a powerful night of live performance in a
spectacular intimate showcase. Grammy-winning singer-songwriter/musician
Rickie Lee Jones’ five-decade career includes a long history of supporting Bread &
Roses with appearances at prior benefit concerts at the Herbst Theatre and Festival
of Music at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. She is known for her wide range of songs
in a jazz-rock style. Her recent memoir “Last Chance Texaco: Chronicles of an
American Troubadour” takes us on her nomadic journey profiling her longevity as an

The War and Treaty, a powerful husband and wife duo, is breaking
boundaries in pop, soul and country. Founded in 2014 by Michael Trotter, Jr. and
Tanya Trotter, they are one of the most electrifying acts in American music today.
They received recent Grammy nominations for “Best New Artist” and “Best
American Roots Song” for “Blank Page.” Their major label debut album “Lover’s
