
On Friday, Dec., 13, Novato Police held a DUI Checkpoint. Eleven citations were issued for driving with suspended/revoked license or without a license as well as other moving violations.
The DUI checkpoint was held at South Novato Blvd near Sunset Parkway.
– 39 vehicles directed to the secondary screening area.
– 9 drivers cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed.
– 1 driver cited for operating a vehicle with suspended/revoked license.
– 1 driver cited for a moving violation.
– No arrests were made.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the NHTSA National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
