Marin County Board of Supervisors Agenda Preview

January 9, 2025 by Marin 2 Comments

The following provides a list of selected highlights from the Marin County Board of Supervisors agenda and is not meant to be an exhaustive list of the entire agenda. The County posts and distributes a full agenda for each Board of Supervisors meeting on the Thursdays prior to a scheduled Tuesday meeting.

January 14, 2025

Here are the top policy items on Supervisors’ agenda for Tuesday, January 14. The meeting is to begin at 9 AM.

Supervisors’ Public Oaths of Office, Board Reorganization

Shortly after convening at 9 AM: Stephanie Moulton-Peters will take her public oath of office to start her second four-year term as District 3 Supervisor. Next, Brian Colbert will take his public oath to start his first term as District 2 Supervisor. The annual reorganization of the Board will include the election of the Board President, Vice President, and Second Vice President.

Health and Human Services Strategic Plan

No earlier than 1:30 PM, the Department of Health and Human Services will present a draft of its 2025 Strategic Plan and seek Board approval. The most recent plan, from 2018, emphasized overall community health and wellness equity. Key pillars in the new plan include goals to advance racial equity, improve community conditions and services, foster community partnerships, optimize the workforce, and boost data collection and analysis. (Staff report).

Parking permits and restrictions

In separate agenda items, the Department of Public Works plans to seek Board approval for two parking-related items. The first is a residential parking permit program and vehicle length restrictions on two streets in Bolinas. The second is the introduction of an ordinance amending the County Code with parking restrictions in specific locations and specific times in unincorporated areas. The ordinance would create more flexibility to establish no-parking restrictions to better meet the needs of communities and partnering agencies such as California State Parks. It would be nice if less money was wasted by the supervisors giving grants and giveaways to minority groups who are no more deserving than anyone else of help. There is a nationwide retraction of dei and it’s highlighted by Karen bass and the clowns she’s using as fire Chiefs in Los angeles.
