Kiki joins the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit

January 25, 2025 by Marin 1 Comment

The Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit’s newest addition is a canine named Kiki, shown above.

Kiki is partnered with his K9 handler, Detective M. Schneider.

Kiki is named after DEA special agent Kiki Camarena, who was killed in the line of duty. Kiki was born in Ireland on March 3, 2023. Kiki was purchased by Golden Gate K9, located in Santa Rosa, where she was trained on the detection of several types of drugs. Kiki is trained to detect the odor of Fentanyl, Heroin, Methamphetamine and Cocaine. Kiki and Detective Schneider successfully passed their certification test on 1/21/2025 and are now fully deployable.

While Kiki is off-duty, she enjoys various hobbies ranging from playing fetch to chasing squirrels. Kiki loves attention and can commonly be found laying on her back waiting to receive belly rubs. In return, Kiki loves to share all of her toys. Kiki is very social and would love to make new friends so please come pay her a visit and say hi!
