In January 2025, a minor made a report with our School Resource Officer, that an adult male had sent her inappropriate images of himself. After further investigation, the suspect was later identified as Payam Ravanfar, a 25-year-old Novato resident. During an in-depth investigation, Detectives obtained and carried out multiple search warrants, which confirmed the victim’s statements.
Earlier today (4/2), Detectives served a search warrant at Ravanfar’s residence near the intersection of San Marin Dr. and San Carlos Way in Novato. During the search, additional evidence was recovered further supporting the allegations. Ravanfar was booked into Marin County Jail for sending harmful material to seduce a minor, a felony violation.
The Novato Police Department investigates sexual crimes, especially those against children, to the fullest extent.
