Fairfax grieves loss of teens killed in crash

April 22, 2025 by Marin Leave a Comment

Press Release from the town of Fairfax:

Our community is grieving following a devastating car collision that occurred on April 18, 2025, in San Geronimo, which tragically took the lives of four beloved young members of our town. This heartbreaking loss has touched us all deeply.

We extend our love and deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones who are mourning. We know the pain is shared by the entire community.

We are grateful to all who came together in love and solidarity at the vigil held Saturday night at the Fairfax Central Field. It was a moving testament to the strength of our broader community and the deep care we hold for one another. The outpouring of love, support, and connection in this difficult moment reminds us that we are not alone.

The program offers youth-centered, non-clinical support including:

  • Philosophy Circles for meaning-making
  • Memorial art-making
  • Music sessions and therapy dogs

Drop-in hours: Wednesday 4/23 and Thursday 4/24, 3–7pm, with extended hours on Friday. All students are welcome—come as you are. Parents are encouraged to call to learn more and anyone interested in volunteering please contact Sally Newson sally@karma-club.org 415.847.2534.

Counseling services are available for all students through their schools. Marin Behavioral Health Services also has resources available for anyone struggling with navigating this experience. The Buckelew Grief Counseling Hotline can also be reached at (415) 499-1195. Crisis Text Line: Text MARIN to 741741, as that option may feel more accessible for students who are more comfortable communicating via
