The Dirty Cello band returns for their yearly show at Rancho Nicasio on May 10.
The Dirty Cello band spends a lot of the year on the road, but loves coming back home to the North Bay for a yearly show at Rancho Nicasio. Recently returned from Bali and Singapore, the band is scheduled to play on May 10.
“We always love playing at Rancho Nicasio since we use it as a focal point of the year to take all the random and wacky adventures we’ve had and get some songs together, and put on a fun show for the audience,” says Rebecca Roudman, the band’s vocalist and cellist. Roudman has her roots in Marin County and was in the Marin Youth Orchestra and went to Terra Linda High School.
The band is known for highly energetic shows that also involve lots of stories and audience interaction, all while being comfortable and informal. According to Strings Magazine, the band’s live shows are described as: “Anyone who’s been in an audience when the San Francisco Bay Area Dirty Cello takes the stage knows that something unique happens whenever cellist Rebecca Roudman and ensemble come face to face with living, breathing (and whooping and shouting) fans.”
