Editor’s Note: This is the opening of the monthly newsletter by Marin County Supervisor, District 3, Stephanie Moulton-Peters.
Dear Southern Marin Friends and Neighbors,
May is a vibrant month in Marin—full of opportunities to connect, reflect, and take action. As we recognize May as Mental Health Month, it’s a time to prioritize well-being and support for one another.
It’s also Marin County Bike Month, encouraging us to embrace sustainable transportation and enjoy the beauty of our communities outside our vehicles.
In our district, there’s been exciting progress: new eye-catching bus shelters in Marin City have been unveiled and share the rich history of the area, and the Golden Gate Village Community Garden continues to thrive thanks to dedicated community members.
The Mill Valley Community Center will play host to a pair of events next week including A Time to Lead on Climate Change, with Congressman Jared Huffman, Deputy Secretary Sara Aminzadeh, and my colleague Supervisor Mary Sackett, to spotlight climate leadership; as well as a PG&E Open House with Regional Vice President Dave Canny and other PG&E North Coast Region leaders. I look forward to seeing you at both these events.
We’re also celebrating environmental wins, including the removal of two tons of marine debris from the Richardson Bay floor, thanks to RBRA and partners. Sidewalk and intersection improvements on Ricardo Lane in Strawberry are planned and will enhance safety and accessibility for riders and pedestrians throughout the area. I also had the pleasure of visiting the Bay Area Discovery Museum along with local elected officials Supervisor Eric Lucan and Tiburon Mayor Holli Thier and learn more about this incredible local treasure for our youngest learners and families.
Finally, I encourage you to deepen your civic engagement and apply to serve on a county board or commission. Your voice matters, and there are many ways to contribute to the future of our community.
All my best,
Stephanie
