Apartment fire closes street in downtown San Rafael

The San Rafael Police Department issued the following post today (June 4):

APARTMENT FIRE CLOSES LINCOLN AVENUE:

Just before 10 AM this morning, San Rafael Fire Department and SRPD responded to an apartment complex fire in the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Police officers quickly evacuated the apartment building and closed Lincoln Avenue so the fire could be quickly extinguished. No one was injured and the fire was isolated to a single apartment unit.

Lincoln Avenue was reopened at 11:15 AM. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
