Jimi Hendrix


1942 

On Nov. 27, guitar legend Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle. His first single, “Hey Joe,” launched him into stardom in the music world.

1942 

On Nov. 29, coffee joined the list of items rationed in the United States. Despite record coffee production in Latin American countries, the growing demand for the bean from both military and civilian sources, and the demands placed on shipping, which was needed for other purposes, required the limiting of its availability.

1952 

On Nov. 25 the murder myster written by Agatha Christie “The Mousetrap” opened in London. 

1963

John F. Kennedy was laid to rest on Nov. 25 with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. President Kennedy was 46.

Natalie Wood

1981 

On Nov. 29, actress Natalie Wood drowned in a boating accident near California’s Catalina Island. She was 43 years old.
