New health rules force cancellation of Boy Scout fundraiser

December 14, 2020 by Marin Leave a Comment

Novato Troop 200 Boy Scouts announced last week that it’s tradition of selling handmade luminarias has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’ve been offering these for over 50 years, and it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year,” a troop spokesman said. “We were excited to keep this tradition going in spite of all that 2020 has brought.  Unfortunately, with the new shelter in place restrictions, and no gatherings allowed outside of the immediate family, it just isn’t possible for us to fulfill our orders.”

Refunds will be forthcoming.
