Since the early days of the shelter in place order, many of Mill Valley’s places of worship pivoted to virtual services.
Nine months later, Mt. Tam United Methodist Church, which was among those to lead the way in March with its ‘At Home & Together” virtual gatherings via Zoom and Facebook Live, continues to pivot.
Church officials hosted a drive-thru Nativity viewing last Sunday, allowing those interested to enjoy scenes from the story of the birth of Jesus, along with Christmas music, all from the comfort and safety of your vehicle. Tricia Wiig, the church’s director of children, youth and family ministries, said families were encouraged to bring canned goods and/or new, unwrapped toys for the food bank and Christmas gift barrels for those in need.
The church is also offering a pair of Virtual Christmas Eve Services on Thursday, Dec. 24, with 4 p.m. service designed for families with young children and a traditional candlelight service at 7p.m. See more at mtumc.org. — Courtesy of Enjoy Mill Valley Blog.
