Marin Dogs Bark: A dog on Woodward Avenue was baking his head off until neighbors could take it no longer. Called police. As soon as the cops arrived, the dog got real quiet. Police talked to the dog’s “owners” and let them know that they have one very smart dog on their hands.
Head Butt: A homeless man yelled at a bike shop employee with his mask down. The employee asked him to pull up his mask. The homeless man then head-butted the employee. The maskless homeless man then wandered out of sight down Bridgeway.
No Skimmer: A resident reported a credit card skimmer at a local convenience story. There must be a skimmer there, she said, because of the unexplained charges on her card. Police checked and there was no skimmer on the ATM machine there. Nor, did there appear that there ever was one.
Strange Behavior: A woman ran around Robin Sweeny Park approaching families and yelling “I’m going to molest your children.” Police talked to the woman and told her to stop it.
Crocs Man: A man wearing Crocs n’ socks harassed some PG&E workers on Miller Avenue. Police were called, arrived on scene, and told him to stop it. His wife then pulled Crocs man back inside his home.
Threats: A woman with a white surgical mask entered a business on Bridgeway and said she was going to shoot everyone in the head. Customers looked up, did a collective “meh,” and called the police. Police arrived and cited the woman, who apparently was well known to officers.
Build Protests: A house is being built on Wolfback Ridge Road and some neighbors don’t like it. They bother workers on the job site. Police called. The building paperwork is in order.
He Ran Away: A man in his late 30s carrying a skateboard yelled bad words at people in a local park. Police called. When they tried to talk to the man, he ran away.
No Masks: Six guys played basketball maskless on Litho Street. The court may be closed by city officials. Way to go selfish maskless guys.
Mill Valley
Dec. 10 – 17, 2020
Parking Permit: A resident on Laurelwood Avenue called to complain that he keeps getting parking tickets when he has a permit. Police told him to contact parking enforcement and straighten it out.
Burglary: A burglary was reported on Mesa Avenue.
Playing Music: Four men were playing music in their backyard on Magee Avenue. A neighbor complained. Police informed the quartet of the complaint and they said they would try to keep it down.
Friends Like This: A woman called police when she discovered a camera planted in her bedroom. A “friend” was over the night before. He admitted to placing the spy camera. No charges were requested but the woman wanted the incident documented.
Bike Stolen: A mountain bike was stolen from a residence on Oakdale Avenue. Owner gave the serial number to the police.
Dog Altercation: A citizen called police because a dog on East Drive started chasing his dog. Both dogs were off leash. Then the other dog’s owner threatened the man with a severe beat down. Police were called, but what are you going to do?
1,000 Bucks: A generous resident on Throckmorton Avenue said he gave a homeless man $1,000 to help him out and give him incentive to move along. He had been sleeping and pooping in an alleyway for about a week. But — surprise! — he didn’t move along. Police were then called and they moved him along.
Homeless Woman: A homeless woman seeking shelter from the weather, lay down in front of a businesses on Blithedale Avenue. Police told her to pack up her suitcases and go.
Runners: A student athletic team was running drills on the Dipsea stairs. None of them were wearing masks. People using the stairs and getting quite upset. Police called. The students were gone when police arrived.
Night Walkers: A man on a night walk became unnerved when a man behind him seemed to be taking the same turns he was. Police were called. Turned out the guy behind the man was also on a night walk.
Mom Justice: A kid on a bike was stopped and cited for “minor in possession”. He was released to his mother.
Wood Chipping: A Marin tree service was composting trees on Surrey Avenue without the use of a shield. Police called and police told the man to talk to a supervisor. The citizen said he tried that but “due to language barrier” he was unable to communicate.
Porch Pirates: Several reports of Amazon boxes being stolen off of front porches this holiday season. Several residents have video, which have been turned over to police.
