Costco gas station protest

A few dozen people protested a planned 14-pump gas station at Novato’s Costco at the Vintage Oaks last weekend. The facility, which includes three 40,000-gallon underground fuel tanks, was scheduled to go before the city’s Planning Commission this week and then on to the City Council for a final decision. Environmental groups such as Marin Conservation League, Marin Audubon and 350 Marin opposed the plan on grounds it is “counterproductive” to the transition to green automobiles.  The Novato Chamber of Commerce has come out for the station.

Personally I am happy to see that Costco is bringing a gas station to Novato. I have friends who live near Costco’s that have gas stations and I always wondered why we didn’t have one, I’m not originally from Marin so I don’t understand why Marin doesn’t half nearly as much as other towns have for the families, no entertainment for kids, we are always having.to drive out of Marin up.to Rohnert Park, it’s really sad that we just cannot change with the times ..
