Novato residents Jean and Les Doran, above, celebrate milestones this spring and summer. Sixty-year residents of the city, Leslie marked his 90th birthday on March 2 and Jean celebrated her 90th on March 28. On June 16, they will observe their 70th wedding anniversary. They bought their home in Novato in 1961 and educated their children in Novato public schools. Leslie worked in San Francisco and made the commute until he retired at the age of 80.
