Novato City Councilmember Eric Lucan has announced his bid to replace Judy Arnold on the Marin County Board of Supervisors. His press release is below:
Already with strong support behind him, Novato City Councilmember Eric Lucan has officially launched his campaign for Marin County Supervisor (District 5). Eric, who has served for a decade on the Novato City Council (including two terms as Mayor), explained that this step will allow him to engage on a broader level in order to support the Novato community, and the surrounding areas.
Lucan would follow the current Supervisor Judy Arnold, who announced earlier that she would not seek reelection in 2022. Eric notes that, “Judy’s distinguished public service record has been guided by her passion, and her love of the community.”
Born and raised in Novato, Eric Lucan has always felt drawn to service, a commitment seen through the variety of ways he’s volunteered over the years, from Soccer Coach and Church Youth Director, to the Novato Parks and Recreation Commissioner. Now, especially as the father to a young and growing family, Eric is very focused on the region’s long-term economic stability, environmental health, and growing vibrance.
Eric and his wife Kiley are expecting a little girl in August. Lucan explains that it is his family that keeps him grounded and focused. “Every day my young son, Noah, reminds me what’s important,” he said. “I feel really blessed to have been raised here myself, and now to be able to raise my family here as well. This is a really special place. I feel compelled to ensure that our next generations continue to have a safe community, beautiful places to explore, and a strong economy that can support all of our families.”
Eric is the Chief Marketing Officer for Mike’s Bikes, which is proudly headquartered in Novato. His entire career has been focused on business development and marketing. Eric is looking forward to bringing these skills, his considerable passion, and 10 years of City Council experience to the county-wide position.
