A mass shooting took place early this morning at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority in San Jose. Eight people were killed. The alleged shooter, who was an employee of the VTA, was also killed. An undisclosed number of people were also injured.
Details as to motive remained sketchy at noon today. The shooter opened fire at a maintenance yard and control center. A union meeting was going on, but it was unclear if that was involved.
It happened on West Younger Avenue about 6:30 a.m. Explosives were also allegedly planted in the area.
