Jim and Ashley Wickham share a tender moment at the service.

A couple of hundred people attended a memorial event for Suzanne Wickham last week at the Mill Valley Community Center. Suzie passed away on March 7 of cancer. She and husband, Jim Wickham, raised five children in Mill Valley. Jim Wickham is a city councilman in Mill Valley.

The daughter of Louise and Jack Allen, Suzie grew up on Ryan Avenue, attending Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Mill Valley Middle School, and Tamalpais High School, from which she graduated in 1979. She was a seemingly tireless volunteer in Mill Valley. The city has named the snack shop at Boyle Park after her where she spent hours running the facility for community events.
