Who will be Marin’s chili champ?

September 14, 2021 by Marin Leave a Comment

This Saturday (Sept. 18) the smell of chili will be wafting over the Bay as Dunphy Park is festooned with the tents and teams competing in Sausalito’s 42nd Chili Cook-off. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will feature the New Orleans sounds of Tom Rigney and Flambeau.

For $15, attendees will get all the chili they can eat and the opportunity to crown Marin’s chili king or queen by voting in the People’s Choice Award. A panel of esteemed judges will select the winners of the Judge’s Choice and Best Booth awards.

Tasting begins at noon, and all tasting cups and spoons will be compostable. Beer, soft drinks, and snow cones will be available for purchase. You can also bring or buy a water bottle and fill up at one of the filling stations that will be set up in the park.
