Love Sausalito Business Fund

May 30, 2020 by Marin Leave a Comment

The Love Sausalito Business Fund was created by the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce in early May as an emergency fund to help small storefront merchants in Sausalito that are struggling to survive shelter-in-place restrictions on commerce. Businesses do not need to be Chamber members to be eligible for a grant from the fund.

City Councilmember Tom Reilly says, “Never has the symbiotic relationship between merchants, residents, and City services been more apparent than now during this pandemic. We need to support our small local businesses through this difficult period. In so doing, we will help accelerate our recovery collectively as a community.”

As of May 29, $26,175 has been raised out of a goal of $100,000. That total includes $10,000 from the City of Sausalito, $7,500 from the County of Marin, and $8,675 in contributions from individuals.

You can help the Chamber of Commerce reach its goal by contributing via the GoFundMe page created for the Love Sausalito Business Fund.

Sausalito-based storefront merchants with 10 or fewer employees are eligible to apply for emergency grants in the amount of $1,000 to $5,000. To date, 12 local merchants have applied for a total of $57,000 in funds.

Any questions about the Love Sausalito Business Fund may be directed to Juli Vieira, CEO of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce, at juli@sausalito.org.
