Meet Novato’s CSOs and Police Aides

The Novato Police Department’s Community Service Officers (CSO) and Police Aides provide support in crime prevention, investigation, and response where full police powers are unnecessary and assist police officers in upholding law and order in Novato.

Part of the professional staff, CSOs provide a wide variety of services from handling crime reports, evidence collection, and coordinating community events. Our Police Aides handle abandoned vehicles, parking complaints, and assist with traffic control at collisions or during special events.

These staff members also keep our patrol car fleet up and running and have been instrumental in the roll out of over a dozen new department vehicles in the past year.

The Department says that “Without the support of our CSOs and Police Aides, our officers would not be able to provide the high level of police service our community expects and deserves.”
