Masks off for air travel; Marin strongly advises that you keep them on for now

April 19, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

The Marin County Health Department issues this alert today:

Today, a federal judge in Florida voided the mask mandate for travel on airlines and other public transportation, effective immediately. Several airlines have already indicated masks will no longer be required on domestic flights. Marin County Public Health continues to strongly recommend mask use during travel, especially in crowded indoor settings such as airline terminals and gates, and while on an aircraft when social distancing is not possible. Travelers should be aware that others who are traveling are now less likely to be wearing masks, increasing risk of exposure. Residents who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should consider additional measures, such as wearing a well fitted KN95 mask during travel.
