Another firearm murder chalked up to Marin’s 2022 tally

Marin is on the wrong track for for murder in 2022. 

Last Sunday an anonymous caller told police a shooting had occurred in the largely hispanic Canal Neighborhood. When police responded to the area of Medway Road and Mill Street, they found a man shot dead. He was identified as Erick Boliver Mendez Vasquez.

Motive had not been determined.

This is the second gunshot murder in Marin this year. On March 3, San Anselmo resident Randy Ray Belanger was found shot to death in a parking lot in Marin City. The victim was 18. 

Marin averages about three murders a year.
