Marin 911: Woman pickpocketed near ferry terminal

July 5 – 11, 2022

Pick Pocket: A woman reported being pick pocketed near the ferry terminal on July 7.

Tent City Life: Someone damaged the locked gates at the tennis courts at the Marinship homeless encampment by removing the hinges. Staff working to repair. 

Oops: A citizen called the cops to report a car had parked in front of the house, completely blocking the driveway. Citizen called back and said “nevermind,” it was his daughter who parked there. 

Tent City Life: A 30-ish woman in the Marinship Park homeless encampment began clawing and tearing at the fabric in the encampment. Damage evaluated.

Homeless: A homeless man set up his tent and belongings at the end of Main Street and appears to have multiple bike parts and piecing them together. Caller asked police to arrest the man, not just move him along. Caller said the guy has been stealing bike parks. Police responded and, after checking him out, moved him along. 

Aussies: Visitors from Australia failed to convert their money before arriving. Went to a restaurant and tried to pay with Australian money. Restaurant held their passports until they could come back with U.S. money. The Aussies called the police, who handled the situation. The restaurant took payment in Australian money and gave the passports back.

Making Noises: A homeless person sat in front of a business on Second Street making all kinds of strange noises. Police moved the noise maker along.

Blowing Kisses: A homeless man blew kisses at kids outside a restaurant. The kids ran back inside. Police responded and told the guy to watch his “overall behavior.”

Mental: A homeless man sat on private property on Johnson Street talking to himself and giving the appearance he was having a mental breakdown. Police responded and moved him along.

Staring: A man was reported standing in front of houses on Sausalito Boulevard just staring at houses for long periods. Police called.

Party Complaint: A citizen told police people were “talking loudly” on the deck of a house on Cable Roadway. He wants them to quiet down, which they did.Needs Help: A regular citizen of the city’s Marinship homeless tent city made a disturbance by yelling that no one believes him when he says that someone had broken into the U.S. Embassy and hostages were taken. This is a daily disturbance at Tent City. Police did not respond.
