Marin 911: Skirt-lifting woman wearing no undies gives sidewalk diners in Sausalito an eyeful

August 21, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

The bad guys are out there and this is the kind of stuff they have. Over a pound of meth packaged for sale was confiscated from a San Rafael man. See the Sheriff portion of this edition of Cop Log for the details.
Mill Valley: We loved meeting everyone who came to #NationalNightOut. We handed out @grillysmillvalley burritos, met some cool members of the community, and kids even had the opportunity to win prizes and to sit in (and on, apparently) patrol cars. Thanks to everyone who came out, and to all who participated.

Anatomically Correct: A woman apparently in the midst of a mental breakdown pestered people eating at a sidewalk restaurant on Bridgeway. She pulled items off diners’ tables and then lifted up her skirt exposing her nude and anatomically correct you-know-what. When police arrived she sat next to the restaurant head in hands in obvious need of help. Police took her away where it is hoped she received needed care … and a pair of underwear. Murder: A man pushing a bike walked in the middle of Second Street yelling that he “will be back” and he “will murder everyone.” Service provided.

Poncho Man: A homeless man wearing a poncho and pushing a shopping card wandered the Plaza area. He was reportedly incoherent and displayed a pocket knife on his belt. Police stopped Poncho Man and told he was not welcome on the property and to move along, which he did.

Threats: A lit homeless man hung out near the tennis courts at the homeless Tent City on Marinship Way and harassed women in a threatening way. Police told him to scram and not come back.

Screamer: A man stood outside a home on Caledonia Street screaming for about 25 minutes. Service provided.

Sleeper: On Aug. 12 police were called to a parking lot on Bridgeway. A homeless man was sleeping on the ground and could not be woken up. Service provided.

Tattered Lady: A woman wearing a “tattered” shirt and screaming was camped out on Turney Street. Police talked to her. She refused services and said she was headed to Ukiah later in the day.

Tent City Life: A man in the city’s homeless facility on Marinship Way said he was struck by another man with a broom handle. But, he did not want to press charges.

Hot Car: A concerned citizen reported a dog in a hot car. The Humane Society showed up but determined that conditions did not justify the call.

Screamer: On Aug. 14 police responded to a report of an intoxicated man screaming on Bridgeway and Pine. The man was given a blanket and dog food and told to quiet down.

Anchor Out: A man scared people by yelling at an anchor out gathering at a church on Litho. Service provided.

Pedestrian Struck: On Aug. 13, at 6:50 p.m., Novato Police Officers were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision on Bolling Drive, near the intersection of Marin Valley Drive. The first officer who arrived at the scene located a pedestrian who had apparently been struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Bolling Drive. Personnel from the Novato Fire Protection District responded to the scene to render aid to the pedestrian resulting in immediate transport to a trauma facility.  The pedestrian was treated for major injuries sustained from the collision. During the investigation, officers learned that a 70-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while walking across Bolling Drive. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Based on the initial investigation, it does not appear that alcohol and drugs were a factor in the collision. Members of the Novato Police Department Traffic Section along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene and took over the investigation, which is on-going. The pedestrian’s identity will not be released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is encouraged to call the Novato Police Department at 415-897-4361.

Meth: A narcotics Investigation by Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU) Yielded over one pound of Methamphetamine. Arrested was John William Gobbin, 55, of San Rafael, CA.

On Aug.  10, Detectives from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU), assisted by the Coordination of Probation Enforcement Unit (COPE), completed an investigation into John William Gobbin of San Rafael. The locations searched in association with the search warrant yielded over one pound of methamphetamine packaged for sales, replica firearms without orange colored tips, drug paraphernalia, narcotics packaging, multiple digital scales, and US currency. Gobbin was arrested for the possession of a controlled substance for sale in San Rafael and booked into the Marin County Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bail.

Assault: The Marin County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alleged attack outside Marin Catholic High School. Allegedly, a person banged on a car and yelled for the driver to slow down. The event led to the alleged fast driver getting choked. No arrest was made and the incident remains under investigation.

Marin Sheriff: Sheriff Scardina, above, swore in three new Deputy Sheriff Laterals: Stephanie Ware, Eric Greenband and Alisha Holmes.

Accident: This is what happens when you speed. San Rafael Police Officers responded to a report of a roll over collision in Terra Linda, near Las Gallinas Avenue and Merrydale Road. The vehicle was seen going through a parking lot at a high rate of speed, hit an embankment and landed on its side. The San Rafael Fire Department arrived on scene to help assist with the accident.

Second Arrest: San Rafael police arrested a second suspect in a recent stabbing near Pickleweed Park. Wilmer Merida Gutierrez, 21, of San Rafael was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, criminal threats and probation violation.

Billy Club: A billy club was found in a car after a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for possession of the club. He was also wanted on unrelated charge out of Petaluma.

Out To Lunch: A woman’s neighbor was supposed to meet for a lunch date, but she didn’t show. No answer at her door, so police were called for a welfare check. Turns out that the “missing” woman was at a lunch date with other friends and is OK. Service provided.

Bag Of Wallets: A worker from a local grocery store brought in to the police station a bag of wallets that had been left at the store and remained unclaimed.

Parking Dispute: Neighbors on Montford Avenue involved police on a parking dispute involving large vans that sometimes block driveways. Service provided.

Bar Fight: A fight in a local bar on Miller Avenue occurred on Aug. 12. It involved a beer being thrown. When police arrived things had quieted down and both people involved chose not to press charges. Service provided.

Naked Man: A woman from her home on Camino Alto could see a naked man laying on the ground. She asked if he was OK and he dropped an F-bomb on her and got in his car. She called the police, who caught up with naked man and took him away.

Sleeper: A homeless man slept in front of a business on Lomita Drive. Police woke him and he said he had overslept. Moved along.

Follower: Elderly women on Miller Avenue reported a man following them. When they stepped aside to let him pass, he refused. Police were called and told the man to stop it and move along.

Bridge Jumpers: Kids were jumping from the bridge on Hamilton Drive. Adults old them it was dangerous, but they said – in their juvenile wisdom – that it was safe because it is high tide. The kids dispersed when police were called.

Sleeper: A homeless man slept on private property on Lomita Drive. Residents asked him to move to public property, which he did.

Permitted: A person on Throckmorton Avenue notices people in the park dancing and playing music. Flute music was way too loud, he thought. He called the police thinking they don’t have a permit to do that. Turns out they did. It was practice for Shakespeare in the Park.

Parenting: A man called the police because he thought a mom was harming her son. Police arrived and determined that she was just parenting the child. She told them that her neighbor is overly nosy.
