The plan to build a gas station at Costco in Novato was halted by Marin County Superior Court Judge James Chou. The court ruled that Novato needs to do more study on environmental impacts.
The city of Novato said it disagrees with the judge’s thinking, but will comply with the order.
Opponents of the gas station say that, aside from health and wetlands concerns, it is in direct opposition to the city’s climate emergency declaration.
