Gov. Newsom signs bill to punish ‘misinformation’ on COVID pandemic

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill that could subject doctors to discipline — including the possible suspension of their licenses — if they spread information the state deems to be “misinformation” on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The controversial law was co-sponsored by the California Medical Association. It would punish doctors who spread “untested” or in”effective” treatments. It would also punish doctors who question the effectiveness of face masks or vaccines.
