November 18, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

The high percentage of ballots counted to date by the Marin County Elections Department and the wide margins in local contests make it possible to confirm the outcome of Sausalito’s General Municipal Election on November 8.

  • Sausalito City Council (2 seats)
    • Jill Hoffman: 2,635
    • Joan Cox: 2,288
    • Tim McCloud: 1,008
    • Jeff Jacob Chase: 401

  • Measure K: Citizen Initiative to Authorize Cannabis Business (requires a majority of votes to pass)
    • No: 2,926
    • Yes: 1,041

  • Measure L: City of Sausalito Essential Services Measure (requires a majority of votes to pass)
    • Yes: 2,697
    • No: 1,205

Measure L will increase the existing local sales tax from 0.5% to 1% for a period of ten years. The measure is expected to generate an estimated $2.8 million annually to support essential City services, including maintenance to storm drains and roadways.

Re-elected Councilmember Jill Hoffman and newly elected Councilmember Joan Cox will be sworn in at the beginning of the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 13.

The Elections Department will begin a manual tally of randomly selected ballots on November 23. The Marin Registrar of Voters must certify results within 30 days of an election.
