Marin voters turnout big … again

December 13, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

On Dec. 6, Marin County’s Registrar of Voters, Lynda Roberts, said the Nov. 8 General Election is certified and the official results have been posted.

The election had 170,534 registered voters of which 121,402 cast ballots, resulting in a turnout of more than 71%. The turnout in the 2018 General Election – which also did not include a presidential race — was over 82%.

The state-required manual tally confirmed that the equipment counted ballots accurately, Roberts said. The Board of Supervisors will accept the canvass of votes and declare the results at its Dec. 13 meeting.

In a county press release, Roberts thanked the “hard-working Elections Department team, including the help of extra hire workers, and the 165 vote center election workers around the county.” The Supervisors will formally acknowledge the team’s work on Dec 13.

“Now that we’ve held two elections using the new vote center model, we have more information to review and determine what works and what still needs to be improved,” Roberts said. “We want to be well prepared when we enter the 2024 election cycle in the fall of 2023.”

More information about the November 8 General Election is posted at marinvotes.org.
