A Tiburon police sergeant killed himself at the department’s headquarters, police said.

Sgt. Sean Christopher’s  body was found last week. He died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Before joining the Tiburon force, Christopher had worked as a Marin County sheriff’s deputy beginning in 2009, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office before that. Law enforcement agencies through Marin expressed sympathy to Christopher’s family and the Tiburon Police Department for their loss.
