David Harris, an activist of national import during the Vietnam War, died this month in his Mill Valley home.
The New York Times reported that Harris was an “avatar of the anti-war movement.” He refused the draft at the time and served 15 months in federal prison. He was for a time married to anti-war singer Joan Baez who wrote “A Song For David.” The two toured the country advocating against the draft and the Vietnam War.
