Achilles came to the SRPD in early 2019 where he was partnered with Officer Zach Brickell. An instant bond was formed, and Achilles went into service on March 17, 2019.
Achilles is a graduate of K9 patrol school, K9 detection school for methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine, SWAT & K9’s interacting during deployment school and K9 Tactical Training School (KATTS). On patrol he has been involved in numerous high-risk cases, apprehensions, narcotics searches and assisted in the location of wanted individuals.
PHe has served as an excellent de-escalation tool and has led to the peaceful resolution of countless incidents involving dangerous individuals. He has been a valuable resource to our partner agencies in Marin County Achilles has not only been an extremely useful tool to the San Rafael Police Department, but an amazing partner and friend. He will get to spend the rest of his days doing his favorite “off-duty” activities. Sleeping on the couch when no one is looking. Eating the snacks the toddler in his home provides when no one is looking and trips to Tahoe where he can swim and play in the snow.
