Night chef surprises hammer-wielding robbers

The car above rolled over three times after hitting a parked car on Belvedere Street in San Rafael. Witnesses who saw the incident said the driver of the car and a passenger fled the scene, who later turned themselves in to police. The driver, ​​a San Rafael resident, was booked on felony hit and run.

MARIN COUNTY SHERIFF

Stolen Mail: OnTuesday, April 18, a deputy located a vehicle with expired and suspended registration in the area of the homeless encampment along Binford Road in Novato. The driver, Shelby Wilcox, 29, of Rohnert Park, was determined to be on felony probation for various financial crimes and identity theft. A search of her vehicle yielded stolen mail, financial documents, bank cards and social security cards and multiple cans of Bear Mace (pepper spray) The driver was arrested for possession of stolen property, misappropriation of lost/stolen property, being a felon in possession of pepper spray, and expired registration. 

Stolen Goods: On April 9, a deputy located a vehicle traveling southbound on US 101 with expired registration. The deputy conducted an enforcement stop and contacted three occupants. Through the investigation, the deputy developed cause to search the vehicle and located approximately $3,100 of stolen property stolen from retail stores throughout the Bay Area along with illegal narcotics. All three suspects were arrested for multiple charges and booked into the Marin County Jail.

MILL VALLEY

Robbery: The night chef at a restaurant on Blithedale arrived for work on April 17 to find a robbery of the restaurant in progress. Two thugs were inside the restaurant  and threatened the cook with a hammer. Cash was taken from the register and the two fled into the night.

Handgun: A woman who appeared out-of-it was seen at the top of Del Casa fire trail holding a handgun. Police contacted the woman. She did not have a gun and she told officers she was fine and her husband knew of her location.

Something Wrong: A man was reported looking into cars and pulling on door handles on Mill Avenue. He was also climbing trees and skipping about. The 20-ish man left the area. Citizens who saw the man said something was wrong with him.

Hedge Dispute: A resident on Vasco Drive cut the hedge between him and his neighbor. His neighbor called the cops. Police told them it was a civil dispute and gave them advice on how to resolve it.

Pooper: The ongoing issue with a homeless woman who keeps pooping and peeing near a store on Miller Avenue continued on April 14 with a call to police complaining that she was at it again. No matter how many times police shoo her away, she comes back and uses the area as a bathroom. Advice given to store management.

Suspicious: People reported a woman climbing into  the window of a residence on Seaver Drive. It turned out to be a woman who locked herself out and had to climb through the window to get back in.

SAUSALITO

Aggressive: A vagrant sat in the parking garage on Caledonia Street. When asked to move, he became verbally aggressive. The vagrant left the premises. 

In-Law: A brother-in-law became unruly at a home on Easterby Street on April 12. He refused to leave the premises, so police called and settled down the matter. Man agreed to behave himself and sleep in his van in the driveway for one night only.

Sleeper: A homeless man slept in front of an office door on Bridgeway, blocking the entrance. Police moved the sleeper along.
