On the morning of May 8, Marin County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a robbery in progress at Target, 180 Donahue Street in Marin City.  During the robbery, deputies learned the suspect, woman in her 20s, loaded various items into a shopping cart and walked to the exit doors, bypassing all check stands.  Store security confronted the woman.

The woman sprayed the guard in the face with pepper spray. The woman then took the unpaid items to her car and loaded them in the trunk and sped off, nearly striking pedestrians.

The woman dropped her cellular phone at Target.  A search warrant was obtained for the phone and the owner was revealed.  Detectives utilized various databases and located a suspect and suspect vehicle.

On May 11, with the assistance of the Berkeley Police Department, detectives located and arrested Eaquoiya Scott, a 22-year-old Berkeley resident.   During the arrest, detectives located the vehicle used in the robbery and an empty can of pepper spray, believed to be used during the robbery.
