MILL VALLEY

Creek Trash: A citizen reported graffiti, trash and discarded shopping carts under the bridge and in the creek on Miller Avenue. Some of the trash appeared to have been there a long period of time. Police referred to the Department of Public Works.

Strange Man: A man described as “strange” pedaled his bike down Blithedale Avenue with his backside hanging out. He wore sunglasses and had a “beet red” face. He rode near an elementary school and disappeared.

Drug Dealing: A citizen reported kids gathering after school on Camino Alto and doing drug deals. Police on it.

Credit Card: Police found a Visa credit card in a parking meter on Hamilton Drive and were working to return it to the owner.

Fishy: A man with a short fishing pole was seen fishing in the creek directly under a “No Fishing” sign. Gone when the police arrived.

Margarita Gal: A homeless woman appearing to be one bubble off center carryied a margarita glass as she strolled through school grounds on Blithedale Avenue, talking to children. Police offered to get her some help but she refused. She told police she would stay away from the school. She was seen – and reported – to police at several other locations around town.

Tree Fall: A 30-foot tall Magnolia tree fell down blocking Miller Avenue on May 8. Debris cleared. No one was injured.

No Stop: Police cited a kid on a bicycle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Sycamore Avenue.

MARIN SHERIFF

Rescue: On May 5 at around 4:45 p.m., the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Helicopter, Henry-One, was requested by the Marin County Fire Department to assist with a rescue. The subject – Spencer Pease – was trapped in heavy brush and possibly injured in the 16000 block of Shoreline Highway in Marshall. Rescuers were having a difficult time accessing the subject. Henry-One arrived on-scene and was signaled by a Marin County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant who was able to make access to the subject. It was determined the subject was reported missing to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office earlier in the day after a nearby vehicle accident. Due to the remote area he was located and the extended time it would take other rescuers to access them, Henry-One was configured with a 100-foot ling line. The Henry-One Paramedic was flown to the subject. The paramedic packaged him into a hot seat rescue device and they were flown to a nearby ambulance.

SAUSALITO

Vandalism: Someone smashed the planters on Bridgeway on April 17.

Shoplifting: A man shoplifted about $1,000 worth of groceries from a store on Harbor Drive and drove off in a mini-van. Camera footage being sent to police.

Van Living: A woman was reported living in a van parked in a handicapped spot on Locust Street. Caller wanted the police to “move her along.”

Smash ‘n Grab: A car was broken into on El Portal Street. Two laptops, a backpack and a Louis Vuitton bag were taken.

Escape: A terrier mix dog by the name of Arlo escaped his owner and ran free for a bit. The Humane Society has Arlo.

SAN RAFAEL

Crash: SRPD Dispatch was notified by an Apple iPhone’s collision detection system that a vehicle accident had occurred in the area of Second Street and Lincoln Avenue.  Officers responded and located a solo Jeep Cherokee that had crashed into the median island at the intersection.  No one was injured.  The preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was traveling too fast for traffic conditions and the driver had to avoid a vehicle in front of them by swerving into the median.  The vehicle collided with a couple of trees before coming to a stop.
