The Rotary Club of Novato held its Annual Teacher Recognition Luncheon, above, on May 12.
Seventeen Novato teachers were selected for recognition. Principals of 17 Novato schools lifted up candidates for selection. The new Novato Unified School District is the largest in Marin County. During the ceremony Dr. Tracy Smith was introduced as Novato’s new District Superintendent. She lives in Novato and has a daughter enrolled. The recipients this year: Our Lady of Loretto, Reed Fromer; Rancho, Shereen Daly; San Ramon, Amy Koenig; Sinaloa Middle School, Phil Janusch; San Jose Middle School, Maria Krot; Novato High School, Taylor Mancini; San Marin High School, Scott Macleod; Marin Oaks High School; Kelly Collins-Geiser; North Bay Christian Academy, Marty Regis; Marin Christian Academy, Kim Filipowicz; Pleasant Valley, Kelly Rasmussen; Olive Elementary, Sara Loyl; Lu Sutton, Jessica Olson; Loma Verde, Inna Soroka; Lynwood, Elvia Romo; Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Matt Hamilton and Hamiliton, Melissa Steele.
