Girl Scout Troop 10506 of Corte Madera/Larkspur has demonstrated the true spirit of giving back by donating $600 to The Commons Foundation (TCF) through their successful Girl Scout cookie sales.
Troop leader Caroline Searle said, “I’m so proud of these girls! They truly exemplify the values of the Girl Scouts, embracing leadership, making a positive impact, and actively engaging in community service.” The girls chose TCF because they felt Larkspur Library holds such an important place in our local community.
Last year, TCF reached its goal of raising $5 million to fund and build a new modern library for Larkspur. This year, it embarks on a new campaign to ensure the outdoor areas at The Commons surrounding the new library are just as inviting as the library itself, with features such as patios, walkways, raised beds, arbors, vegetation, amenities for cyclists and pedestrians, inviting seated areas, benches, water features, lighting, and a public square. The troop’s generous contribution will help create these inviting outdoor spaces for readers of all ages to explore, learn, and grow.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Girl Scout Troop 10506 for their outstanding efforts in making a difference and contributing to the future of our community,” said Ann Morrison, president of The Commons Foundation. “Their generosity sets an example for others to follow, showcasing the power of youth in creating a brighter tomorrow.”
