Pride crosswalks in Sausalito

June 27, 2023 by Marin 1 Comment

Pride crosswalks in Sausalito.

To commemorate Sausalito Pride festivities, the City has added rainbow-colored stripes to the three crosswalks at the Bridgeway intersection with Bay Street in downtown Sausalito.
The new crosswalks represent the City’s commitment to supporting visibility, dignity, and equity for all people in the LGBTQ+ community, as proclaimed by the City Council in a resolution unanimously approved on May 23.
The rainbow stripes were installed by Petaluma-based Bruce Enterprises under the supervision of the Public Works Department. The material used is a high-quality thermoplastic with a life span of three to five years, the same as the white stripes used at other crosswalks along Bridgeway.

Looks quite nice, actually. I’m a proud and happy homosexual but, frankly, I’m weary of all the LGBQRSTUVWXYZ++?@#$%&* stuff constantly being shoved in our faces. I don’t even use the word “gay” anymore.
