COVID is over, so stand by for a cool summer in Marin with hot bands from Novato to Sausalito.

The Marin Art and Garden Center (30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.) in Ross is sparking up its Summer Concerts in the Garden with four great bands – Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums on July 6; Braulio Barrera & Con Kimba Quintet on July 13; Musique Magical on July 20; and Royal Jelly Jive on July 27.

Box meals are available for the concerts. See the Marin Art & Garden Center’s website for cost and details.

At the venerable big-daddy of venues in Marin, the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, Marin favorite Lorin Rowan will be featured in a “Lorinfest” on Thursday, July 13. Show starts at 8 p.m. and cost is $18.

Other names headed Sweetwater’s way include Jules Broussard on July 16 and Jeff “Skunk” Baxter on Aug. 6.

Novato will once again is sponsor it’s Concerts on the Green at the Novato Civic Green, 901 Sherman Ave. The concerts are free. Outside food and drink is permitted, dogs, however, are prohibited.

Moonalice, a psychedelic soul and rock-tinged group, lights up Novato on July 21, followed by Citizen Flannel on Aug. 4 and Burnside on Aug. 18.

And down in the seaside village of Sausalito, it is the annual Jazz and Blues by the Bay. You can find the full lineup and details at the city’s website, but here’s a taste:
