The Novato Unified School District Board has announced the appointment of Jeff Wallace as the Director of Fiscal Services and Juliette Jones as the Assistant Principal at San Jose Middle School. Both were approved by the Board on June 27.
Jeff Wallace has been in education for 15 years and has been the Principal at Sinaloa Middle School since 2019. He recently earned his Chief Business Officer Certificate, an 18-month program, from the California Association of School Business Officials.
Jeff began his career teaching Algebra 1 and Precalculus and serving as Athletic Director at Novato High School. After serving as Principal at John Swett High and Willow High Schools, Mr. Wallace returned to the Novato Unified School District. He has his B.A. in Philosophy from Humboldt State University and his M.A. in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University.
“I welcome Jeff to the role of Director of Fiscal Services. With his strong math skills, understanding of school budgets, and familiarity with our district, Jeff brings an invaluable strength to our Business Department,” commented Dr. Tracy Smith, incoming superintendent.
Juliette Jones has been in education for 18 years and recently served as the Interim Assistant Principal at Hamilton TK-8 School. Ms. Jones began her career in the concert and entertainment industry prior to becoming an educator at NUSD. At NUSD, Juliette taught at the elementary level in grades 2-5. She was also a Teacher on Special Assignment at San Ramon Elementary School working closely with the principal and district office supporting teachers with Proficiency Based Education and Social Emotional Learning. She also provided behavioral and academic support for students in need.
Jones was also an active member of the Novato Federation of Teachers serving as Elementary Vice President. Jones has her B.A. in Music from UC Berkeley and M.A. in Education Leadership from San Francisco State University.
“Juliette’s focus on equity of access to programs and opportunities for all students and belief that a positive culture creates a strong community foundation makes her a wonderful addition to the administrative team at San Jose Middle School,” noted Dr. Tracy Smith, Incoming Superintendent.
