Aldersly, a San Rafael-based nonprofit Life Plan Community, held a ceremony to commemorate the official groundbreaking of the Marselisborg residence expansion on Wednesday, July 19. Participants of the groundbreaking ceremony Shannon Brown (Aldersly executive director), Peter Schakow (Aldersly board of directors’ president), Maribeth Bushey (City of San Rafael councilmember), and Dr. Ripley Hunter.
Aldersly’s expansion comes on the heels of the opening of Rosenborg Memory Care, a residence community created to enhance the life experiences and wellness of those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, in June of last year and Aldersly’s 100th anniversary celebration.
The Marselisborg new independent living apartment residences, and the opening of Rosenborg Memory Care, are part of a multi-phase plan at Aldersly that includes improvement of living spaces, common areas, parking, amenities, and services, including its revitalized Health and Extended Care Center.
The 35 new Marselisborg residences will feature a European aesthetic that reflects Aldersly’s style, which embraces coziness, comfort, and connection.
