Marinscope A shipment of a date-rape drug headed for a Fairfax nail solon was intercepted and an arrest was made in a subsequent operation, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Special Investigations Unit said that it received information from the Homeland Security Investigations Division about a 3.5 Kilos of GBL/GHB (date rape drug) being shipped to the Fairfax location.
U.S. Customs Agents had seized the package and notified Homeland Security who then brought the Marin County Sheriff Department into crime.
With the cooperation of the Postal Service the package was delivered to the nail solon and the person who received the package, identified as Long Tran, was arrested. A search warrant was obtained to search the San Francisco home of the suspect, where police say additional quantities of the date-rape drug were found.
In total, more than 3,500 doses of the drug were seized. Police estimated that the street value of the drugs are about $20,000.
