Questions for a Comrade

Why are the Democratic Socialist of America ( DSA) so involved with the Fairfax Town Council?

When were they elected, and by whom, to run our town? 

You may ask yourself, who are the Democratic Socialists of America?

Many people in our town were asking themselves this very question, when in November of 2022, the Fairfax Town Council, led by then Mayor  Stephanie Helman, and Vice Mayor, Chance Cutrano, rammed down the throats of unsuspecting citizens two ridiculous and harsh ordinances, #870 and #871, attacking property rights of Fairfax residents.

The night the two ordinances were passed, the jubilant DSA members celebrated with a victory party downtown, with both the mayor and the vice mayor advertised as invited guests. 

DSA brass contacted the Fairfax Town Council in January of 2022, and orchestrated a takeover of our property rights, in record time, with the willing cooperation of our Town Council. Comrades working together in solidarity. 

The DSA, which is a national organization, with approximately 90,000 members in total, spread across all 50 States, or less than 2,000 members on average per state, are a radical organization that according to their website, hate our country, decry capitalism, despise landlords, protest business owners, disrespect property rights, and now we come to find out – they also seriously loathe Israel, to put it mildly. 

The energetic DSA, in various states and major cities across our country, inexplicably celebrated the brutal massacre and murder of innocent Jewish and others lives, and the attack on Israel. 

Prior to this coming out against a crippled Israel, the radical DSA had infiltrated our small town of Fairfax, working side by side with our elected Town Council, to bring forth policies and laws that hurt our citizens, our property owners, and will hurt our town. 

Many in the community are against the ordinances affecting their property rights. So much so that they gathered over 1,000 signatures to bring the previously passed ordinances to a vote of the citizens in a future election. 

If the Town Council had listened to citizen concerns prior to rushing the ordinances into town law, they would have put their ordinances on the ballot to begin with. But the council had an agenda, and their focused DSA partners were in charge of it. 

Citizens are so outraged with this council that they have galvanized like never before, over these particular property rights issues. 

To counter this public effort to give people the right to vote on these DSA rules, the Town Council started to rewrite, or tweak, the same ordinances that they just passed, to try and get around the initiative that is ready to go on the ballot. Tricky maneuvering and very costly. Our Town Attorney is racking up legal bills, and the taxpayers are footing the runaway costs that ironically will hurt them in the pocketbook. That’s literally biting the hand that feeds you. 

So today I wanted to ask the architect of the ordinances, the head comrade in Fairfax, Mayor Chance Cutrano: Why would I, a non military person, use the word “comrade”? Isn’t “comrade” a military reference? 

The DSA, on their website, calls members and associates in their organization – “comrades”. The DSA calls Mayor Cutrano a “comrade” as well. So, to follow DSA protocols, “Comrade Chance” it must be. 

I sent out the following press inquiry to our Mayor, as he represents the Town Council, and he seems to be a major, active participant, or tool, of the DSA. 

It simply said the following:

Dear Mayor Cutrano, 

Considering the Fairfax Town Council has worked arm and arm on Rent Control and Just Cause Evictions Ordinances, with the Democratic Socialists of America ( DSA),  what is your position on their stance against Israel?

Do you, or they (the DSA), have a hatred of Jewish people, and Israel?

Is this hatred connected to the hatred and disdain the DSA has for “landlords”? 

Do you disavow the DSA and their philosophy of “Death to Israel”?

Will you continue your political affiliation with the DSA?

So far I’m still waiting to hear back from our mayor, for answers to these pertinent questions. I invite all Fairfax council members to clarify their positions as well. 

If the misguided, ultra radical DSA is going to be writing ordinances for our town – ordinances  that will change the lives of so many of our residents – we need to know how and why the mayor and his fellow comrades, I mean councilmembers, let that happen? 

Next week let’s tackle the issue of seven story buildings in downtown Fairfax, and building on our previously protected ridge lines.
