Three arrested in shoplifting case in Mill Valley

November 17, 2023 by Marin 1 Comment

Thursday evening, Nov. 16, Mill Valley Police Officers responded to the Mill Valley Market, 12 Corte Madera Avenue, for the report of two individuals who were attempting to shoplift numerous items from the market.

Employees were familiar with the two individuals, as they had previously been seen on security video shoplifting from the market.

Mill Valley Officers arrived on-scene at 7 p.m. and detained three individuals who were attempting to flee in a vehicle.

Upon further investigation, Sarah Denzer and Duc Pham had loaded a shopping cart full of items valued at over $1,200, which included wine and liquor. Denzer and Pham exited the market without paying for the items while employees attempted to stop the theft. Denzer used the shopping cart to ram store employees in an attempt to get away, while Pham was actively taking a fighting stance and yelling threats at employees.

Denzer and Pham entered a getaway vehicle driven by Faith Cooks. Cooks attempted to drive the vehicle from the location, aiming the vehicle at a store employee and almost hitting them while attempting to flee. All property was recovered and returned to Mill Valley Market.

Mill Valley Officers ultimately arrested and booked the following individuals into the Marin County Jail on these charges:

Sarah Denzer, 31, of Antioch: 211 PC – Robbery, 459 PC – Burglary, 245(A) PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, 422 PC – Criminal Threats, 182 PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and approximately 9 warrants for her arrest out of multiple counties.

Duc Pham, 52, of Fremont: 211 PC – Robbery, 459 PC – Burglary, 422 PC – Criminal Threats, 182 PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and an outstanding warrant out of Marin County.

Faith Cooks, 59, of San Francisco: 182 PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime and 459 PC – Burglary.
