MARIN SHERIFF
Bather: A homeless woman estimated at about 80 years old, bathed herself and “smoked something” in front of a home in Strawberry. Police contacted the bather and worked to get her help to get home, which she said was out of the county.
Huge Party: Neighbors reported a “huge party” taking place on Corte Esquela in Novato. Deputies checked in and the host said the music would be turned off for the night and all the kids at the party would be staying overnight. Service provided.
Binford: Deputies responded to the Binford Road homeless encampment regarding multiple code violations involving an RV. Service provided.
Abatement: A large white truck parked for over a year on Belvedere Drive was reported to deputies. Service provided.
Knife: A woman told police that a man in his 40s threw a knife at her car and then walked toward Miller Creek Middle School. School notified. Service provided.
Camper: People on Bay Vista Drive reported a pop-up trailer parked on the street for over a week. No one seen living in it. Vehicle tagged.
Lost Job: Friends of a Tam Valley woman who recently lost her job asked police to do a welfare check because she dropped communication with everyone. Service provided.
Abatement: In this reporting period a number of calls were received reporting long-term parkers throughout Marin. Service provided.
SAUSALITO
Fire: On Nov. 9, a citizen reported a homeless person with an open fire on Locust Street. Responding officers did not find a fire. Service provided.
Yeller: A woman having a mental episode yelled bad words behind City Hall and at one point screamed “rape.” Police responded. The woman refused assistance.
SAN RAFAEL
Fire: On Nov. 4, the San Rafael Fire Department responded to an arson attempt at the Northgate Mall. A suspect was seen lighting vegetation on fire and fleeing the scene. Fire crews were on the scene and discovered a small fire along the sidewalk. Additionally, a corner of a retail structure was burning. Firefighters put out the fires. The San Rafael Police Department later apprehended a suspect.
MILL VALLEY
Stinky: The sewer system backed up Nov. 9 on Thoreau Circle. Service provided.
Building Inspector: A man walked uninvited into a house on Lovell Avenue and started taking pictures. The resident called the police. Turned out to be a building inspector. Still sifting through the incident. Service provided.
Homeless: A homeless person wandering Miller Avenue on Nov. 11 was contacted by police and offered help from the city and county. She said “no.”
Face Tats: A man with facial tattoos and wearing a hoodie walked Throckmorton Avenue. A citizen reported him saying he looked suspicious. Service provided.
Growler: A homeless man growled and spit at a couple walking on Miller Avenue. Police called to the scene, but no sign of the growler. Service provided.
Kicker: A homeless woman with lots of luggage pushed a jogger on Miller Avenue. Service provided.
Pisser: A homeless woman, believed to be the one who pushed the jogger in the item above, was seen on Miller Avenue pissing on the sidewalk next to a bakery. Police stopped her. She refused to give her name and refused services. Police gave her a verbal trespassing warning.
Bullies: The parent of a 12-year-old boy reported to police on Nov. 12 that five kids surrounded his son and knocked him over. School has a video.
Guitar Man: The homeless man who carries a guitar around town bothered people again on Nov. 12 when he acted up by jumping on tables and touching a woman on the head. Service provided.
Drone: A resident on Mountain View Avenue reported a drone landed on his roof on Nov. 15. Service provided.
Taser: Police received an anonymous tip on Nov. 13 that a kid brought a taser to school and has made threats to shoot children at the school. Report on file. Service provided.
Yeller: A woman wandering Miller Avenue cursed randomly at people around her. Police made contact. Help refused.
Shooter: A man randomly shot a BB gun on Nov. 16 at people near Alto baseball field. Police took him away. He had a warrant for his arrest out of Petaluma.
Disturbance: A woman who lives out of her car on Willow Street daily verbally accosts a resident. An ongoing problem which the resident said needs to be solved. Service provided.
Guitar Man: Same guy. Different day. A man carrying a guitar and experiencing a possible mental breakdown on Nov. 15 kicked an orange cone and yelled profanities at people he came across. Ongoing problem. Service provided.
