The all-volunteer Book Exchange and Copperfield’s Books in San Rafael are in the middle of their annual Holiday Book Drive. Book Exchange provides gently-used and some new books to elementary and middle school students from Marin’s most under-resourced communities. The Book Exchange gives away 20,000 books to about 2,000 Marin students each year. As of Dec. 18, the Marin community has purchased over 900 new children’s books at Copperfield’s Books in San Rafael, which were donated to The Book Exchange. The drive has been so successful that it has been extended to run through Dec. 31, with the goal of donating well over 1,000 books for Marin’s under-resourced students.
