Sausalito-Sakaide Sister Cities program seeking exchange students to go to Japan this summer

February 24, 2024 by Marin Leave a Comment

Sakaide Exchange Program. The Sausalito-Sakaide Sister Cities program is now taking applications from Marin high-school students ages 15-17 for its 2024 exchange program in Sakaide, Japan from July 26 to August 7.

Each day, the program’s 12 participants convene at Sakaide City Hall, where they board a city bus accompanied by city staff and a Japanese translator. The curated itinerary includes activities such as noodle-making, judo with local police, a tea ceremony, ikebana, and kimono-wearing.

Participating families are responsible for airfare and a program fee, with financial aid available to qualifying applicants.

Visit the Sausalito-Sakaide Sister Cities website for details on how to apply. The application deadline is March 31. Any questions can be directed to Stephanie Miller at (415) 717-5026 or 3828xm@gmail.com.
